From City Meetings to Community Care: Showing Up for Lupus Support

This year, the heart of Journey with Lupus has truly been everywhere.

Our Founder and Executive Director, Dr. Phyllis Long, has shown up — at city council meetings, community events, police-hosted outreach gatherings, health fairs, marches, churches, and other support circles — raising awareness, building understanding, and meeting people exactly where they are.

Dr. Long also continues to facilitate Journey with Lupus support group meetings, creating consistent, safe spaces for connection, shared stories, education, and strength for individuals and families navigating life with lupus.

Awareness isn’t built in quiet rooms. It’s built in community. In conversation. In presence. In advocacy. In the steady choice to keep showing up.

Thank you to every venue that has opened its doors, every story entrusted to us, and every person who has listened, learned, and reached out with care. The movement grows, the support expands, and the mission continues — visibility, advocacy, and hope for the lupus community.

💜 Because no one should walk this journey without support.
